Everything!

So since the last post we played our first show as a band on April 21st and we showcased our demo. It was awesome!! We had a lot of friends and family come out to support which we loved. We have some upcoming shows at The National Underground on 158 East Houston Street in the city on May 15th at 11pm and May 29th at 8pm. We would love for you guys to come out and support us again and best of all the show is FREE this time!

We also have 1 show booked for June so far on the 10th at 10pm and the cover is $10 bucks. Its the 10-10-10 deal. This show will be at Fat Baby so please come through for these shows, support us...spread the word at least to 1 person and have them keep it going. Word of mouth is the best publicity.

Aside from that, we are working on about 3 new songs at once. They are gonna be very cool. I think you guys will really like them and by the June 10th show we should be ready to play them for u guys LIVE for the first time ever. It'll be cool to show off our new songs live!

Thanks to the support of everyone coming through for our first show. Lets keep that love flowing. Thanks ;-)

GIG!?!?

Hey all, so after sending out some emails to a few booking agents and waiting and waiting....and waiting. We finally got an email back from a booking agent for Fat Baby, a bar in Manhattan, giving us a bunch of open live performance dates in which we could perform in April and a few in May. I emailed the guy back with dates we are interested in playing on and now we just wait....wait and....wait until we get a confirmation. So stay tuned for the confirmed dates and venues and we hope to see you guys out there supporting us ;-D

Long Journey Ahead

So friends, this past Thursday we started working on a new song called Fly. Its rough at the moment and the night started slow with it but by the end we could definitely hear the music and are amped to finish this song.

We havn't heard anything back for gigs as of yet and March is slowly passing so hopefully something will pull through sooner than later. We practiced our EP after working on the song for a few hours and we were on point for the most part and feel ready to perform.

Overall we are still going at it, working on new music and trying to get gigs. If any of you reading this have any outlets let us know leave a message on the blog or our facebook: facebook.com/artintheafterlife or email us at artintheafterlife@gmail.com

So we reunited yesterday after a 2 week break. We practiced our music and we also started working on a new song. We all agreed on a cover song that we will also be working on for the next few weeks so it looks good for the future. Still gotta start the video Editing for the music vids.

We sent a couple emails out last night tryna schedule some shows so now we just waiting on response back from the venues. Otherwise everything is looking good so far. I'll get back to y'all real soon...

What up!?

Dudes and dudettes what it do? Jess here on my lunch break wishing I was practicing with the guys and making new music but something has got to pay the bills. Anyway we took 2 weeks off after making the EP. Practice will resume this week so we can get ready for live performances. We also have a lot of music that we are working on for our full length album so listen for some samples in the future. I know in a previous post I said I'd put up some footage from the studio but sorta been busy with other things and I figure I'd spend the time editing a music video for at least 2 of the songs on the EP so I'll be spending the next couple of weekends working on that. Talk to you guys later...

Big Day

Today is the big day guys. We will be tracking each part of the songs and having them mixed and mastered by Dan Pfeffer at Venture Studios. If there are any artists out there looking to record for a decent price click his link.

I was trying to upload a video of some new music we are working on but for some reason the upload keeps coming up with an error. I tried 4 times. Anyway, I'm gonna record our session tonight and hopefully put up some footage later. Come back later

Studio recording!

Hey friends. This is Jess giving an update. The Art In The Afterlife will be going into the studio February 10-12 for 5 hours each day to record our 1st demo project. We are all excited and have been working really hard for the past 6 months to get these songs where they should be. I'm working on the website still and it's proving to be a bigger project than anticipated but keep your eyes open for the link because it should launch at the same time as the demo.

Until then homies listen for Facebook updates. Thank you to all our friends and family that have been supporting us and look forward to hearing the album. It's coming soon.

Hello and welcome. This is the official blog of The Art In The Afterlife. A little background:The Art In The Afterlife consists of 4 members. Chris plays guitar, Luis plays drum, Jon aka Palattes plays bass and I, Jesse, am the vocalist.

I plan to post some sample songs, pics of practice and things like that so you can start to get to know us. So stay tuned for some sprucing up of the blog page as this is the first time I use blogspot.com. Also look for the link to our website which should be up within the next few weeks.

Until then, bare with me and check back to see whats new. ;-)
